Hello! My name is Hope Selander-Haag, and I own Keep it Calm Events LLC. KIC is 10 years old, and has had the pleasure of being a part of 400+ weddings throughout the years. I love all things weddings, decorating, dancing, and planning. I can't carry small purses because I am always carrying around multiple notebooks. My experience in events (over 15 years!) and motherhood (10-year old and 4- year old girls) keeps me multi-tasking, coordinating, and adjusting continuously.


My goal during your planning process is to be your confidant, your vent session, your cool-headed go-to, and for you to have NO idea what fires were put out on your big day. Logistics and development are my passion, and I will help you ensure we’ve covered all of our bases for your event.

Bre here…your event planner extraordinaire! I have over a decade of experience in the industry from planning and coordinating weddings, fashion shows, trade shows, horse events, and more! I started this career path on the west coast and followed the sun and horses to Florida where I decided to plant my roots and raise my family.

Fate brought me to KIC and I joined its great team! I am very passionate, organized, creative, detail oriented and a people pleaser, aka destined for this role! I love bringing peoples visions to life and every step it takes along the way. Let’s meet and discuss your vision for your big day and make it uniquely you!

Lea Bins is our Operations Director!

You wont see her as much, but she’s keeping our operations in check. Keeping our inventory in place, prepping for our wonderful events, and helping with all our back of the house systems.

Lea is passionate about community style events, and as we reach out into our community more and more - you’ll see her face around town!

Alexis

Associate Planner/Coordinator

Hi, my name is Alexis!
Let’s start at the beginning. Ever since I was a little girl, I have LOVED love. As the first born, I was the designated flower girl in all of my family’s weddings and I had a front row seat to all of the love and fun that comes with people’s big day and knew I’d want to experience that over and over.

Fast forward about 10 years and I’ve just graduated from UCF (Go Knights!) with my Bachelor’s in Hospitality Management with an event focus. Throughout my college career and after, I worked in multiple facets of the event industry and even had the opportunity to take my talents overseas as an Event Intern in Ireland.

I took a short hiatus from the event world, but somehow managed to make it right back to where I belong: weddings! I am so excited to get back into the wedding world and put to use my education and experience to make your wedding day perfect.

Amy Jo

Associate Coordinator

Amy Jo - just as southern as my name. Central Florida is home to my deep family roots and extensive network of like minded creative and fun professionals. My pride and joy are my children - Jaylynn, Kevin & Colton, and of course my grand pup Diesel. To me, every moment is an opportunity to create a memory! Birthdays have become one of my favorite parts of being a mom as I get to create a fun surprise, unique to each child, and that celebrates them in their own way. I am known to my friends as the chaos coordinator because I love a good challenge to pull off an unforgettable event, in the midst of what most people find to be a stressful experience.

I have over 20 years experience with large scale event planning and assisting with the City of Inverness, Citrus County Chamber of Commerce, Citrus County Blessings, Filter Family Solutions, Citrus Cinderella’s, Phil Royal Legacy, several area churches, and more. With strong ties to the community and a passion for creating memorable moments for those around me, I found a home with Keep It Calm Events.

Though I enjoy every opportunity to celebrate, planning and coordinating weddings holds a special place in my heart. In fact, my own love story started at a wedding when I fell for the guy leading the conga line across the dance floor. From touring venues, seeing a brides Pinterest board, all the way to the moment they say I do, and break it down on the dance floor - I am honored to be part of such a beautiful journey! I look forward to helping you plan the next chapter in your love story.

Skye Marheine

Lead Planner

As a wedding planner, I am passionate about turning your Pinterest dreams into reality.  With my expertise in budget control and extensive knowledge of local venues & vendors, I can help you plan the perfect wedding day.  I understand that the process can be stressful so I am here to take on all of your worries while staying level-headed and quick on my feet. 

As a hopeless romantic, I will shed a tear or ten on your big day, and I will make sure that every detail is exactly as you imagined.  I pride myself on creating a personal relationship with my clients where they feel heard, respected and comfortable throughout the entire process. From the first consultation to the final walk down the aisle, I will be there to guide you every step of the way. 

My favorite moment is the walk back down the aisle after you finally say "I do." Seeing the joy and happiness on your face is what makes my job so rewarding and I'll be waiting there with a drink, snack, and/or tissue for you.
